Step 1: Face Outline
Draw an oval shape with a bulge on the top right side.
Step 2: Face Features
For the eyes, draw 2 curved lines, on each, draw 3 circles inside one another, leaving a white spot inside the innermost one for light reflection. Draw 2 curved lines above the eyes for eyebrows.
For the nose, draw 2 small curved lines facing downwards, under each make a dot for the nostrils.
For the mouth, draw 2 curved lines coming on the left side of the face meeting together slightly upwards making a corner.
Step 3: Neck
Draw 3 lines coming down from the bottom of the head.
Step 4: Back and Tail
Draw a curved line from the right side of the neck making a big curve for the back, from the bottom of the back, draw a cone shape for the tail.
Decorate the back and the tail with small circles with different sizes.
Step 5: Legs
Draw 2 legs attached to the bottom of the dinosaur's body, with 2 curved lines for each leg, connected at the bottom with triangular nails. Decorate them with a line in the middle of each leg to resemble the knee.
Step 6: The Egg
Draw a giant egg cuddled to the dinosaur's body as shown intersecting the dinosaur's leg. Decorate the egg with several irregular shapes.
Congratulations, now you can draw a mommy dinosaur.
Now, grab the colors of your choice and start painting your drawing, I am sure it will be outstanding.
Tip: To show light reflection on any surface while coloring, leave a small line or sometimes circles without color as shown in the colored picture.
Tip: If you are using colored pencil and would like to achieve a 3D effect as the one in my drawing, pick a darker shade for the color you pick and go over some parts of the drawing with this darker shade as shown in the final picture, and try to blend the two colors together well on paper by easing the pressure on the pencil tip as you go towards the lighter parts.
