How To Draw A Seahorse | Step By Step Drawing Guide

Welcome to kiddy can draw. Today, we are going to learn how to draw a seahorse.

So, grab your art supplies, and let’s start drawing.

Step 1: 

First draw the front of the head and the snout showing a laughing mouth and a nostril inside.

Step 2:

Inside the face, draw a letter C to make the eye, inside make the eye with a shape of a half circle leaving a white spot to show light reflection.

Draw an eyebrow over this eye. Then another eyebrow and eye partially hidden behind the face.

Next two curved lines to make the bottom of the snout and the face.

Step 3: 

Draw a wavy line to make the top of the head and a curved line to make the back.

Step 4:

Draw the dorsal fin by drawing a line coming out from the back connected to a wavy line and another line going back to the body.

Step 5:

Complete the body and the tail of the seahorse by drawing a curved line going down from the dorsal fin ending with a twist at the end of the tail.

Step 6:

Then make another twisted line finishing the tail and going up ending with a wavy line near the end under the face.

Step 7:

Now, we are going to draw the crown. Each seahorse has a crown called coronet, which is a unique identifier like the humans' fingerprints. 

It is going to have a wavy zigzag shape on top of the head going all the way to the back right above the dorsal fin.

Step 8:

Now, we are going to decorate our seahorse by drawing some lines on the crown, some more lines on the dorsal fin, and a wavy line in the middle of the body with some horizontal lines to define the front part of the body.

Then decorate with some small oval shapes on the lower part of the body near the end of the tail.

Cute, now you can draw an adorable seahorse.

Now grab the colors of your choice and let's start coloring.

Tip: To achieve a 3D effect, pick a darker shade and go over some parts of the drawing.

Tip: To show light reflection while coloring, leave a small line without color.
