How to Draw a Cute Dino Girl | Step by Step Guide

Dinosaurs are marvelous creatures, they used to live on Earth millions of years ago during what is called “the Mesozoic Era” or “The Age of Dinosaurs”.

There are almost 700 known species of dinosaurs and today we are going to draw one of the sauropods which are known for their really long necks and for being herbivores, meaning they only ate plants.

Step 1: The dinosaur's head

Draw half a circle, like a letter "C" but facing the opposite direction.

Step 2: The neck

Draw two lines from the head going down to make the dinosaur's long neck as shown in the step below.

Step 3: The back

Draw a curved line from one side of the bottom of the neck going up then down again.

Step 4: The belly and tail

From the other side of the bottom of the neck, draw a curved line going under the dinosaur's back to make its belly.

To make the tail, draw a spiky cone shape curved upwards coming out of the back of the dinosaur.

Step 5: Legs, feet and face features

Draw 2 legs and feet separated by a small curved line in between.

Draw an eye and a mouth for your dinosaur.

Step 6:The other two legs, back spikes and skin texture

Draw the other two legs that are positioned behind the first ones.

For the spikes, draw mini triangles from the top of her head till the end of the tail.

Then add a few irregular circles on the body to give your dinosaur some texture.

Congratulations! Now you can draw a cute girl dinosaur.

Coloring:

All you have to do now is give it some color. I used colored pencils in my drawing, but feel free to use any kind of colors you prefer. Whether you use markers, pencils or crayons, I am sure your drawing would be beautiful.

Tip:

If you are using colored pencil and would like to achieve a 3D effect as the one in my drawing, pick a darker shade for every color you pick and go over some parts of the drawing with this darker shade as shown in the final picture, and try to blend the two colors together well on paper by easing the pressure on the pencil tip as you go towards the lighter parts.
